Buckingham Palace – When to visit?

Photo:

When I finally managed to organize this 4-day getaway to London, I was delighted because, as well as being an opportunity to visit a dear friend of mine who is studying there, I could also have crossed London off the list of cities I want to see. Well yes, I had never been to London before, this was the first time!

One of the highlights of my trip to London in the English summer was undoubtedly visiting Buckingham Palace.

Home of the royal family (since Queen Victoria moved there), Buckingham Palace is an architectural masterpiece. It is possible to visit it by purchasing the entrance ticket directly at the ticket office of the building (which also includes the audio guide), and it is valid for a whole year from the moment it is stamped.

However, the various rooms of the palace are not always all open to be visited; it depends on the period: for example, the State Rooms are only open from the end of July to the end of September, when the Queen is on holiday in Scotland.

Opening Hours: 9.30-19.30 Jul-Aug, until 18.30 Sept.
